Adder Stryde ( A Mass Effect fic.)
Prologue: Orbit
"You're sure you want to go through with this?" the orange Salarian asked, "Absolutely?"
"Yes," the young man said looking around the dingy clinic, a hint of disdain ever-present in his topaz eyes. "If i wasn't do you think I would've paid fifty thousand credits for the best doctor on this god forsaken rock you call "Omega"?"
"I see," the Salarian replied as the young man stretched out on a long, cold, grey operating table. "let us begin then."
the young man looked up at the operating equipment suspended above him on robotic arms, thankful most or it wouldn't be needed.
"He's Faye, like us," He responded. "Only, he's not Seeilie."
"He's of the Night Court then?" She asked. "I thought the last of them died with Lucien?"
"No, he's not Unseeilie either, he's something different he's both."
"Both?" She wondered. "How is that possible?"
"I'm not sure in his case," he told her, "but most often it was a result of rape of war-time prisoners or other types of unwilling intercourse. However, in the few cases the two fae actually did love each other, but with the court distinctions it was highly unusual."
"You ok girlie?" Asked a low, gruff voice from behind them.
"Yes

"I thought it'd be nice to hunt here, 'cause it's your seventeenth birthday tomorrow and all."
"Thanks Marcus, I've always wanted to hunt my own birthday meal just once." Vince said, stepping out into the fog that was rolling in from the lake next to the lodge.
"I know," Marcus said walking around to Vincent's side of the car. "Now, shall we go meet our hunting companions for the next three days?"
Thyne answered by ducking low as the flat of the blade whistled passed her cheek.
"You've gotten better," Atticus said as he spun to steady himself. "You're almost as good as me."
Thyne grinned at the compliment as she rushed in to exploit her brother's momentary lapse in balance. Crossing the yard quickly she thrust the dagger she held in her right hand, knocking him farther off kilter. As he fell she slashed at him with the dagger in her left, splitting the pocket of his tunic. Stopping for breath Thyne helped her brother up.
"That's one point for me, big brother," she said grinning.
"That it is, Lady Songstress, that it is," Atti
